WAUKESHA, Wis. –
The 7th-ranked North Park University men's soccer team defeated Carroll University 5-0 at Haertel Field on Wednesday, marking the 4th shutout in their past five contests.
The Vikings were first to mark. In the sixth minute, off a corner kick by freshman midfielder Deni Cresto, junior defender Gustav Leander headed his first goal of the season making the score 1-0 Vikings. In the 21st minute, off a free kick by Cresto, sophomore Peder Olsen notched his ninth goal of the season making the score 2-0 Vikings. In the 23rd minute, off an assist by sophomore Erik Lundeen, freshman forward Joachim Hoff tallied his eighth goal of the season to give the Vikings all of the momentum headed into the second half of play.
At the half: North Park 3 Carroll 0
The Vikings added to their lead in the back 45. At the 53rd minute, off an assist by Olsen, Hoff scored his second goal of the match and ninth of the season as North Park increased their lead to 4-0.
Just minutes later, at the 56th minute and off an assist by Cresto, Lundeen scored his fourth goal of the season to put the match out of reach at 5-0.

#7 North Park (14-2-0, 6-1 CCIW) wraps up their regular season on Saturday, October 27, hosting the Wheaton College Thunder on Senior Night at 7:30 p.m. at the Holmgren Athletic Complex. The Thunder recently took down the Illinois Wesleyan Titans in overtime. With a win on Saturday, North Park would earn the outright 2018 Men's Soccer CCIW title. A loss would mean Wheaton and North Park share the CCIW title.
