#19 North Park Picks Up Sixth Straight Win Defeating North Central

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – 

The tenth-ranked North Park University men's soccer team notched its sixth straight victory defeating the North Central College Cardinals 2-1 at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium on Saturday.  

In the first half, the Vikings struck first.  At the 29th minute, off an assist by sophomore Shatil Khoury, freshman midfielder Ulrik Lund scored his first collegiate goal making the score 1-0 Vikings.  


HALFTIME: North Park 1 North Central 0


In the second half, the Vikings added to their lead.  At the 74th minute, off an assist by senior defender Kyle Robson, sophomore Peder Olsen scored his eighth goal of the season making the score 2-0 Vikings.  At the 85th minute, the Cardinals got on the board on a goal by freshman Austin Lombardi. 

The lone Cardinal goal was too little, too late as the Vikings held on for their sixth straight victory.


FINAL: North Park 2 North Central 1


Despite a late push by the North Central offensive attack, the Vikings held on to defeat the Cardinals 2-1.

#10 North Park (13-2, 5-1 CCIW) concludes its road schedule traveling to Waukesha, Wis. to matchup against Carroll University on Wednesday, October 24 at 7:30 p.m. The Vikings are first in the CCIW with a 5-1 record, currently holding the tiebreaker over Carthage College.
