CHICAGO, Ill. --
After two seasons as an assistant basketball coach at Division II Lewis University, Marlon London enters his first season as the Associate Head Coach for North Park University's men's basketball program.
During his two year stint as a coach, London guided the 2016-2017 Flyers team that played in the Great Lakes Valley Conference championship game. London also played at Kansas University from 1998-2000 where he was named to the Big 12 All-Freshman team.
London spent five years as an assistant boys basketball coach for St. Joseph's High School in Westchester, Illinois. While coaching, London played a key role in helping the Chargers to the 2015 IHSA Class 3A State Championship and saw seven of his student-athletes receive NCAA Division I scholarships.
With both his playing and coaching background, London has deep ties to both the Chicago and regional recruiting scene. His player development skills are evident in the student-athletes that have grown from London's tutelage.Â
One of those student-athletes was Portland Trail Blazers guard/forward Evan Turner, who was drafted No. 2 overall by the Philadelphia 76ers.
Following his graduation from DePaul ('03), London continued his playing career internationally with stops in Estonia, Spain and Mexico.
"I am extremely excited to have Marlon join our program and want to be a part of our future here at North Park" says Head Men's Basketball Coach Tom Slyder. Â "To get a coach of his caliber is a win win for our players and University.Â
