North Park ran its win streak to a season-long six matches as the Vikings earned a 2-0 win over host Millikin University Wednesday night in Decatur.
NP, entering the match as the No. 24 nationally-ranked NCAA Division III team by the United Soccer Coaches Association, out-shot Millikin 16-7, including 9-4 shots on goal.
Both Peder Nalum Olsen and Carel Kawele Kuzona scored for the Vikes as they upped their season record to 7-1 overall and a perfect 2-0 in conference.
Olsen put away his fifth goal of the season in the 24th minute when he took a Gustav Ericsson pass and buried the shot in the top left corner of the goal. Â
Olsen finished with a match-high five shots, two on goal, while Kuzona fired four total, two on goal. Kuzona's tally came not even a minute later from Olsen's when he scored his team-leading eighth of the season off a pass from Shatil Khoury.
Keeper Mathias Stulen played all 90 minutes and made four saves as he earned his second shutout of the season in improving his record to 5-0. Rudy Mathieson led the Big Blue with two shots.
NP resumes action this Friday when it travels to Wheaton College for a 7 p.m. match Saturday night.
