A 26-5 edge in shots powered North Park to a 4-0 win over visiting Aurora University in non-conference action Wednesday night.
In preparation to the start of the CCIW schedule this weekend, the Vikes made sure everything was clicking on both sides of the ball as they earned their second-straight shutout and third overall in the young 2017 season.
Carel Kawele Kuzona buried a pair of goals and assisted on a third as he fired eight total shots, three on goal, to lead the hosts. Kuzona buried the game-winner in the 13th minute when he received a pass off the left side from Peder Nalum Olsen and dropped the shot in the bottom center of the net.
Just out of halftime, Kuzona then found Erik Lundeen at the top of the box for a shot that the freshman put in the bottom left corner of the net for a 2-0 lead. The Kuzona-Lundeen connection came together again in the 57th minute, but this time it was reversed when Lundeen tapped a pass over to Kuzona off the left side for a shot in the bottom right corner. Matias Warp added the final tally off an Erik Roesholt assist in the 59th minute.
North Park went deep into its bench for the second-straight match as a total of 27 players saw playing time in the match.
NP (5-1) returns to action Saturday when it travels to Waukesha, Wisconsin for a 2 p.m. match with Carroll University.
