North Park made quick work of host St. Mary's University of Minnesota Sunday as the Vikes tallied four goals in the first half – two in the opening 10 minutes – and three in the second in route to a 7-0 rout in non-conference action.
NP totaled 17 shots in the match, 13 on goal in earning their third-straight win and fourth overall to start the season.
Junior Carel Kawele Kuzona scored his fourth and fifth goals of the season within a matter of seven minutes. His first came in the second minute off an assist from Peder Nalum Olsen and he then gave NP a 2-0 advantage with a penalty kick goal in the sixth minute.
After that it was Olsen's turn to get in the scoring column as he too buried a pair of shots for his third and fourth goals of the season. After a Matias Warp tally off an Olsen assist in the 16th minute Olsen came up with first goal of the match a minute later when he took a Warp assist. Just after halftime Olsen found the back of the net again – this time in the 46th minute on a shot unassisted.
Twenty minutes later Eric Davies put away his first goal of the year and the first of his collegiate career when Marrion Alvaro found him on a cross pass for the tally. Shatil Khoury then finished out the scoring in the 87th minute when he too garnered a penalty kick goal for his second goal in the last two matches.
A total of 26 players saw playing time for the Vikes with both Kuzona and Olsen finishing with four shots each. Both Erik Lundeen and Khoury recorded two shots each.
North Park (4-1) resumes action Wednesday night when it hosts Aurora University for a 7 p.m. contest.
