Led by 36 kills from sophomore Lauren Wiltsie, North Park snapped its four-match losing streak with a two-match sweep in its own NPU Quad Tuesday night.
The Vikings defeated Concordia University Chicago 25-19, 20-25, 28-26, 25-20 in the opener and earned a spirited 25-22, 25-17, 22-25, 26-24 victory over Marnatha Baptist in the nightcap to finish in a tie for first place amongst the four teams in the quad as North Central College also finished with a 2-0 record.
Wiltsie threw down a season-high 22 kills against MBU and put the Vikings ahead 24-23 with an emphatic kill in the final set before Sarah Hua-Pham finished off the match with a pair of kills to give the Vikings the two-point win.
Freshman Reagan Clement also had a strong performance on the offense as she went for 22 kills and finished with a .318 hitting percentage against MBU.
Defensively, Brittney Garcia came up with 21 total digs, including a season-high 13 in the final match of the evening.
North Park (2-4) returns to action Friday when it travels to Jacksonville for a 3:30 p.m. tri-match with Illinois College and Webster University.
