North Park used a high-powered offense to pick up its third-straight home victory, a straight-set 25-22, 25-16, 25-15 triumph over Illinois Institute of Technology Wednesday night.
Led by a 13-kill performance from freshman Reagan Clement, the Vikings left little to doubt in the match as they snapped a two-match losing streak in the process.
Although the first set was a rough start for the hosts, they overcame it quickly and broke away from a 17-17 tie and used an 8-5 scoring run led by a Clement kill and a few IIT hitting errors.
From there, NP controlled the tempo as they raced to an 11-6 lead and later a 21-14 advantage after a Clement kill in the second set. Back-to-back hitting errors and a Kelly Clinton kill pushed the Vikings to a 4-1 lead to start the third set, and they then moved ahead  16-9 before finishing off the set and the match with four-straight points.
Along with Clement, Niki Ahlstrand added seven kills and while both Clinton and Lauren Wiltsie threw down six apiece. Wiltsie also came up with 13 digs. Alyssa Miner led IIT with nine kills.
North Park (3-6) returns to action Friday when it opens its own North park Classic against Knox College at 2 p.m.
