Hendrix struck early and often as it unfortunately completed the three-game sweep of North Park Sunday with an 11-5 victory in Conway, Arkansas.
The Warriors scored single runs in the first three innings and added two in fourth, followed by a five-run seventh inning to earn its seventh victory of the season.
To their credit, North Park didn't back down from the deficit however as they responded with single runs in the sixth and seventh innings, followed by a three-run ninth inning highlighted by an RBI double from Anthony Bragg.
Viking starting pitcher Jason Meger suffered the loss on the mound as he worked three innings. He struck out one batter and walked two in the decision.
Tyler Woolbright, who upped his batting average to a team-best .455, collected his fifth hit of the season – an RBI single to left field which put the Vikings on the board in the sixth inning. An RBI groundout from Caleb Layden in the seventh, followed by a Woolbright sacrifice fly factored in the scoring for the visitors as North Park totaled 12 hits. Both Nate Simons and Ray Cekus each had a pair of hits. Bragg, Mitchell Jordan and Simons all connected for doubles in the contest.
North Park (1-5) looks to rebound when it travels to Ft. Myers, Florida for its Spring Trip March 12-19. The Vikings open the trip with Amherst College March 12 at 3 p.m.
