North Park overcame a rough first half Wednesday to earn its fourth-straight win to start the season – an 88-81 victory over visiting Alma College.

The Vikings shot an unfortunate 36.8 percent from the field in the first half and mustered only 32 points, but came back strong in the second shooting nearly 50 percent from the field (48.6) all while halting any comeback the Scots attempted.

Junior Jordan Robinson tallied a game-high 25 points on 11 of 23 shooting however 19 of his 25 points came in the second half as he sat most of the first with two fouls. Junior Colin Lake added 22 points and Juwan Henry finished with 20 while coming up with three blocked shots.

Alma raced to a nine-point advantage in the first 13 minutes of the contest, but North Park used a 12-2 scoring run over the next five minutes to seize a 26-25 lead on a pair of Lake free throws. They later then took a two-point lead into halftime and carried the momentum in to the second half with a 10-2 run in the first four minutes. A pair of Henry free throws gave the Vikes their largest lead of the game at 69-55 with 7:48 left, but Alma trimmed the deficit to a possession at 82-79 after a three-pointer in the final 30 seconds. However North Park sealed off the win with free throws from Lake and Robinson.

Junior Jarvis Cannon tallied a North Park career-high nine points as he knocked down 3 of 5 shots, including a three-pointer. Darius Brown added seven points and seven rebounds for the Vikings. Five different players finished in double-figure scoring for the Scots led by 21 points from Preston Laketa.

North Park (4-0) opens CCIW play Saturday when it travels to Augustana College for a 7 p.m. contest.
