North Park scored early and often, much to the delight of their raucous student section, in a 4-0 victory over visiting Edgewood College Friday night.
The Vikings lit up the scoreboard, tallying a pair of goals in each half as they earned their second-straight win of the season.
Sophomore Chase Lennartz scored the game-winner for the Vikings in the seventh minute off an assist from Kebba Sanyang, but NP's offense wasn't nearly done there. Fresh off tallying the game-winner for the Vikings in the season-opener three days prior, junior Pedram Tahmi-Masoleh added his second goal of the season when he buried a shot in the bottom center of the goal from a Gianfranco DeCarne feed to give NP a 2-0 lead at halftime.
Edgewood managed seven shots in the second half, but it wasn't enough to hold off a Vikings' onslaught as they out-shot the visitors 14-7 in the half. Sanyang tallied his first goal of the season in the 50th minute when Tahmi-Masoleh found him for a tally in the bottom left corner of the net, and Michal Walaszek added the final tally in the 62nd minute off a Lennartz assist.
Junior Christopher Tomuta and German Zamudio split time in the keeper position as Zamudio finished out the final five minutes.
North Park (2-0) returns to action Sunday when it travels to Winona, Minnesota for a 1 p.m. match with St. Mary's University of Minnesota.
