Men's Soccer defeats Dubuque 3-1

Tahmi-Masoleh tallies three goals in win

North Park's high-powered offense stayed in gear Wednesday night as the Vikings put away three goals – all by junior Pedram Tahmi-Masoleh – in a 3-1 victory over the host University of Dubuque in non-conference action.

Tahmi-Masoleh, who now has a team-best nine goals on the season, recorded six shots in the game, five on goal as he helped lead North Park to its second-straight win and their third in the last four games.

Tahmi-Masoleh put away his first goal in the 17th minute when he fired a shot from eight yards out on the left side off an assist from Gianfranco DeCarne. Tahmi-Masoleh later came away with his second goal of the night when DeCarne found him again on a scrummage play off the right side in the 65th minute. Dubuque trimmed the deficit in half with a tally four minutes later, but Tahmi-Masoleh and the NP offense proved to be too much as the Swedish native headed in his final goal of the night in the 80th minute from yet another DeCarne assist.

Ricky Pimentel recorded three shots and both Diego Lashlee and Carel Kawele Kuzona had two each. In all, North Park fired 15 total shots, nine on goal and held Dubuque to seven.

North Park (5-1) returns to action Saturday when it hosts Dominican University for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
