Despite an early advantage, North Park couldn't seize the momentum against host Carthage College Wednesday night in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

The Red Men were just as strong on their side of the ball and it resulted in a double-overtime 2-2 tie in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin affair.

After the Vikings snatched an early 1-0 lead when senior Diego Lashlee put away his first goal of the season unassisted in the second minute, Carthage responded with the equalizer off a throw in from right side nine minutes later. Giles Phillips scored his third goal of the year when he headed the ball just inside the box from five yards out. The shot at first looked like it hit the crossbar and bounced out, but it crossed the line on the bounce giving the hosts the 1-1 tie.

With the advantage, the Red Men then took a 2-1 lead on another throw in in the 22nd minute. Austin Bitta grabbed a Jamie Tausend offering and put the shot in the bottom left corner of the goal for his sixth goal this season. North Park later tied it when Pedram Tahmi-Masoleh tapped in his team-leading 16th goal on a two-time assist from Marcus Ollton and Kebba Sanyang in the 34th minute. Both teams were able to create chances thereafter, but could not complete the opportunities due to a combined six offside stoppages.

Vikings' keeper Christopher Tomuta made five key saves in 110 minutes of play. North Park fired a total 25 shots with Tahmi-Masoleh garnering eight.

NP (11-3-1, 2-1-1) returns to action Saturday afternoon when it hosts Augustan College for Senior Day at 3:30 p.m.
