Despite three different players finishing in double-figure scoring, North Park couldn't overcome a fast-paced Illinois Wesleyan team as the host Titans ran to a 76-66 victory over the Vikings Saturday night in Bloomington.
Sophomore guard Juwan Henry scored a game-high 25 points, Jordan Robinson added 15 and Colin Lake 11, but the Titans scored 20 points off 14 NP turnovers, and had 24 points in the paint while dominating the boards by a 40-31 margin.
Illinois Wesleyan built its lead to as much as 18 points at 46-28 on a lay-up from Ryan Coyle with 15:43 left in the contest. North Park did trim the deficit down to 67-61 on a lay-up from Michael Hutchinson off a steal and an assist from T.J. Cobbs with 2:33 left, but IWU pieced together a 10-5 scoring run to finish out the final 1:15 to pick up its fourth conference win of the season.
Dylan Overstreet led four players in double figures as he tallied 16 points for the Titans. Coyle also finished with seven rebounds.
North Park (9-7, 0-5) looks to rebound Wednesday night when it hosts Elmhurst College for a 7 p.m. contest.
