The North Park volleyball team suffered a 15-25, 15-25, 11-25 setback to host Wheaton College Tuesday night in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin action.
Junior Monalisa Fasavalu led the Vikings net attack with nine kills while junior Hayley Brake added seven and sophomore Sa'Vone Williams six. Defensively, two Vikings finished in double-figure digs as Karen Rosales came up with 11 and Williams had 10. Freshman Darby Switzer dished out 21 assists and three different Vikings served up a pair of service aces as Brake, Abigail McKowen and Elise Ervum combined for six of NP's seven total.
Wheaton earned its third conference victory of the year as Shelby Knowles threw down a match-high 16 kills. Knowles also had a .500 hitting percentage as she made only one error on 30 kill attempts. Andy DeMoss finished in double-digit kills as well as she had 10 and Ashley Torok passed 21 assists.
North Park (8-18, 0-4) looks to rebound Friday when it hosts both Augustana College and St. Mary's University of Minnesota in a Homecoming Tri-Match in the Helwig Recreation Center. The first match is scheduled at 3 p.m.
