Henry earns All-Tournament honors, averages 15.5 points per game

Box Score

Dominated by a 29-point performance from Dustin Kinn, Bluffton University earned an 81-54 victory over North Park in the McDonald's of Bluffton Holiday Classic championship game in Bluffton, Ohio Monday afternoon.

After picking up an 83-59 victory over Ohio Mid-Western to earn a spot in the title game, the Vikings couldn't find an answer for the BU sharp-shooting forward as he connected on 12 of 15 shots and had eight rebounds. Kinn tallied 18 of his 29 in the second half as the hosts built as much as a 34-point advantage on a lay-up from Kinn with 5:12 left in the contest.

Despite the loss, North Park freshman sensation Juwan Henry earned All-Tournament team honors as did sophomore Ryan Hyrn. Henry finished with a team-high 21 points and averaged 15.5 points per game over the two-day tourney. Hyrn meanwhile scored a season-high 22 in the NP's semifinal victory Sunday.

After Bluffton built a 44-27 lead at halftime, the Vikings made a valiant effort to get back in the game early in the second half when they pieced together a 6-2 scoring run in the first two minutes. Freshman Joe Biko knocked down a three-pointer and Henry converted a three-point play to make it a 46-33 affair, but Bluffton responded with a 14-2 scoring run to push its lead back to 60-35 after a rebounded basket from Kinn at the 13:38 mark. NP didn't draw any closer thereafter.

Freshman JayQuan Lee added nine points for the Vikings, while both Aaron Weaver and Gavin Groszek finished with six. Groszek was a perfect 2 of 2 from the floor and averaged three points per game during the tournament.

North Park (3-8) looks to rebound this Saturday when it opens CCIW play with North Central College in Naperville, as part of a doubleheader with the women's basketball team, at 7 p.m.
