Jacob Phelps joins the Vikings for the 2026 season as a graduate assistant, following a successful four-year playing career at Kansas Wesleyan University.

A four-year contributor for the Coyotes, Phelps competed throughout the lineup in both singles and doubles. He finished his collegiate career with 32 victories, including a 16-17 singles record and a 16-10 doubles record. As an upperclassman, he served as the team captain, and consistently competed near the top of the lineup, while helping Kansas Wesleyan compete in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference. Phelps brings a strong passion for player development and team culture to the Vikings. Working at summer tennis camps throughout his time in college he learned many valuable lessons and teaching tools that will be of benefit to the team.

During his undergraduate studies he earned a bachelor's in Psychology, earning Magna Cum Laude honors. Jacob is continuing his education in working towards a master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
