North Park University Athletics

Omar Lopez enters his first season as a Graduate Assistant coach for North Park University Track & Field team. 

He came to North Park from Benedictine University in Lisle Illinois, where he competed for 4 years on Benedictine’s Track & Field team. Lopez competed in jumps, hurdles, sprints and relays, earning NACC All-Conference awards in long jump, 60 meter hurdles, 100 meter hurdles and the 4x100 meter relay.  Lopez broke the school record in the 60 meter hurdles while earning NAAC Conference Freshmen-Of-The-Meet during my 2013 season. He also competed with Benedictine’s Football team for 4 seasons as a wide receiver, earning a NACC championship during 2014 season. 

A native of Forest Park, Illinois, Lopez graduated from Benedictine University with a bachelor’s degree in exercise & sports studies and is pursing his MBA at North Park.
