Rob Nichols

The 2024 season was the third as an assistant football coach with the North Park University football program for Coach Rob Nichols. Nichols serves as the offensive coordinator and assists in developing the wide receivers for the Vikings.

During his six-season stint (2016-2021) as the defensive backs and wide receivers coach at College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) opponent Millikin University, Nichols help turn the previous 4-6 record (2016) into a program that posted a record of 7-3 and four consecutive winning seasons (2017-2021).

Working primarily with the wide receivers, and defensive backs, Nichols directed a wide receiver core that helped contribute to break not only several Millikin records but CCIW records as well. This includes all time touchdown and receiving yards holder, four all conference receivers and All American in the 2021 season.    

Prior to his time at Millikin University, Nichols was the defensive back coach, equipment coordinator, and assistant recruiting coordinator for Carroll University from July 2012 until February 2016. During his time, he coached a top 15 in nation punt return group and number 1 in the nation pass defense. Along with those accomplishments were two all-conference returners and six all conference defensive backs.

Nichols, a native of Joliet, IL, graduated from Dubuque University, earning his Bachelor’s degree in Health Recreation and Wellness. While a part of the Spartan football team, Nichols was a two-year varsity letterman, a two-year varsity starter as a defensive back. Nichols was also a two-year letter winner at Missouri State playing the defensive back position. 

Coach Nichols’ is married to his wife, Tiffany. He has three daughters - Amaya, Mariyah, Charlee and a son, Karter.
