North Park University Athletics

The 2022 season will be the third for Coach James Cobbs. Cobbs will serve as the video coordinator and work with the NPU wide receivers. He started at North Park in 2020, following a two-year stop with the Carthage Firebirds.

In those two seasons as a coach, Cobbs mentored two First Team All CCIW student-athletes in running back Lafayette McGary (2018) and wide receiver Jovone Stricker (2019). 

Cobbs, a native of Urbana, Ill., enjoyed a stellar four-year career with the Red Men as a wide receiver, collecting 2,218 receiving yards and 17 touchdown passes. He was a First Team All-CCIW selection in 2016 with 730 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. Cobbs graduated from Carthage in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in exercise and sport science.
