North Park University Athletics

The 2024 season was the second with North Park for coach Clay Martin. Martin was promoted to Defensive Coordinator in 2025 after working as the co-DC in 2024. He will also operate as the Co-Special Teams Coordinator and develop North Park's defensive backs.

Prior to North Park, Martin worked as the nickels coach and assistant strength coach at North Central College for the 2022 season, guiding the Cardinals to a 2022 National Championship. They boasted the top scoring defense in all of Division III football, holding opponents to 4.6 points per game, and had the top-ranked red zone defense in the country. The Cardinals set a school record with four-consecutive shutouts and totaled five shutouts through the season. Martin coached three linebackers/nickels to All-CCIW status and added a pair of First Team All-Americans on defense. He also assisted as the team's social media coordinator.

Martin was the running backs coach and social media coordinator at Millikin University before joining NCC and was also the co-defensive coordinator/linebackers coach at Beloit Memorial High School.
