North Park University Athletics

As a fifth-year coach, Harmon brings a wealth of knowledge to the North Park University squad. Prior to NPU, Harmon served as an assistant head coach, offensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator at Malone College in Canton, Ohio. For three years as a member of MC’s coaching staff, Harmon took the lead in formulating an aggressive recruiting plan for student-athletes. While his coaching background has seen stints at Geneva College, Olivet Nazarene University, Trine University, the University of Chicago and Taylor University, Harmon’s main background the last six years has been primarily as a director of admissions at two different institutions. Two years ago, Harmon served as the Admissions Director at Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, Missouri where he created and implemented an athletic scholarship program and oversaw a 14 percent increase in boarding cadets. As the Director of Admissions at St. Mary’s Ryken College Catholic Preparatory School in Leonardtown, Maryland prior to his work at Wentworth, Harmon founded the football program and served as head coach from 2006-2011. He also oversaw a nine percent annual increase of incoming freshmen classes, which was the third-largest in school history.

Harmon has over 20 years of experience in admissions work on the college and high school level and is a versatile communicator with a wide range of people.
