Harvey Sets Saves Record in Loss to No. 3 UChicago

Harvey swats 16 shots against Division III's third-ranked team

CHICAGO, Ill. – North Park dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 3 UChicago on Wednesday afternoon at Stagg Field despite a record-setting performance from sophomore goalkeeper Makenna Harvey.

The Maroons controlled the pace throughout the match, finishing with a 30-2 advantage in shots and a 19-2 edge in shots on goal. UChicago opened the scoring through Indira Naylor in the eighth minute before Greer Reineke converted a rebound in the 41st minute to make it 2-0 at halftime.

North Park placed both of its shots on frame in the opening 15 minutes. Midfielder Sofia Svensson tested Amanda Kayari just 11 seconds into the match, while forward Caroline Sjøstedt forced another save in the 15th minute.

Harvey made 11 saves in the opening half and added five after the break to establish a new North Park single-game record with 16. The Maroons' convincing 3-0 win was slimmed down from what could have been, as Harvey made plenty of close-range saves as well as stops on close free kicks.

Annabel Edwards completed the scoring for UChicago following a corner kick in the 54th minute.
