CHICAGO, Ill. -- Preseason practices are nearing and eighth-year Head Football Coach Kyle Rooker and staff welcome 60 new Vikings to the North Side, ready to compete for a spot on the field.
This group features newcomers from nine different states, including 18 from Florida, 16 from Illinois, 7 from Georgia, 8 from Indiana, and 4 from Texas.
"Our 2026 recruiting class may be our best yet," said Coach Rooker. "Our coaching staff did a great job of addressing needs, continuing to improve our size and physicality in the trenches, and adding some explosive skill players on both sides of the ball. We also added some talented specialists who could make an impact on the field this fall. Overall, this group succeeded at a high level on the field and in the classroom and they should fit perfectly into our #TheRightWay culture. As always, we want to thank the parents and high school coaches who worked with us throughout this process. Now, it's time to get the guys here and go to work."
