KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- North Park softball opened their annual Florida trip with an explosive offensive performance to defeat Aurora University 7-3, jumping on the Spartans early with a three-run first inning and maintaining control from start to finish. Raquel Hare powered the Vikings to another win thanks to another complete game.
Game 1 – North Park 7, Aurora 3
North Park struck quickly when Sydney Snyder drove in two runs in the opening frame, part of a three-RBI performance that set the tone for the day. The Vikings added two more in the second, highlighted by a two-run double from Miabella Collazo. Leadoff hitter Kayla Sapolu continued her strong start to the season with a two-hit, three-run game, while Kelsey Oviatt and Lily Komperda added key RBI swings to extend the lead.
Hare earned the win with a composed 7.0 innings, allowing just one earned run while scattering eight hits.
Game 2 – Ohio Northern 5, North Park 1
North Park's offense was limited to four hits in the second game, falling 5-1 to Ohio Northern. The Vikings' lone run came in the third inning when Katie Patton singled and later scored on an RBI knock by Kayla Sapolu. Despite the loss, North Park committed no errors, and reliever Abrianne Papas provided two efficient, scoreless innings to close the game and showcase as another solid option for the busy Florida schedule.
