JACKSON, Wis. -- North Park University women's tennis delivered one of its strongest performances of the spring season on Friday afternoon, earning a commanding 6-1 road victory over Wisconsin Lutheran at Pleasant Valley Tennis and Fitness Club. The Vikings excelled across both singles and doubles play, showcasing depth as the team continues a challenging spring schedule.
North Park set the tone early by sweeping all three doubles courts. Alexandra Pugachova and Thea Gifvars opened with a crisp 6-2 win at No. 1, followed by an overpowering 6-0 decision from Emilia Sand and Jessica Dudas at No. 2. Holly Chleboun and Nicasia Murphy sealed the sweep with a confident 6-2 victory at No. 3, giving the Vikings a 1-0 match lead.
The strong start carried into singles play, where North Park claimed five of six courts. At the top of the lineup, Pugachova was flawless, securing a dominant 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles. Sand followed with a steady 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 2, and Gifvars added to the momentum with a 6-2, 6-0 win on court three. Dudas continued the streak with a 6-2, 6-1 result at No. 4, and Chleboun closed the door with a convincing 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5. Wisconsin Lutheran earned its lone point at No. 6 singles.
