Tennis falls in season opener to St. Francis

JOLIET, Ill. -- North Park Women's Tennis fell to the University of St. Francis, 5-2, in their spring season opener on Sunday afternoon.

Playing shorthanded, the Vikings split doubles action in their playable matches as the #2 slot of Jessica Dudas and Holly Chleboun won 6-2. Unfortunately, a win and walkover for St. Francis game the host a doubles victory.

In singles action, Thea Gifvars won in the third singles slot (6-2, 2-6, 1-0) and Holly Chleboun enjoyed a dominant 6-1, 6-0 win.

What's Next?

North Park (0-1) continues a stretch of road contests in a couple weeks, heading to Notre Dame, Indiana for a match at Saint Mary's College at the St. Joseph Tennis Club.
