CHICAGO, Ill. -- North Park University's Kolden Vanlandingham added another accolade to his standout senior season Monday, earning national recognition on the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week. The honor came only hours after he collected his third College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Basketball Player of the Week award. Vanlandingham previously earned national recognition on December 2 after posting a career high 39 points in a win over UW-Stevens Point.
Vanlandingham played a decisive role in the Vikings; two conference victories this past week against Augustana and Wheaton. Across both contests, he scored 20 or more points, shooting 57 percent from the field, 45 percent from three-point range, and 90 percent at the free-throw line.
In Wednesday's matchup with Augustana, Vanlandingham delivered one of his most complete performances of the season. He recorded 29 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals, highlighted by a heavily contested, game-winning layup in the final seconds. Driving left and finishing with his right hand through traffic, he pushed North Park to a 79–77 victory.
In Saturday's home game against Wheaton, Vanlandingham once again led the Vikings, posting 24 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists in a high-scoring CCIW battle. With the score tied in the closing moments, he backed down his defender on the right block, turned, and elevated for a fadeaway jumper to put North Park ahead 94–92.
The Team of the Week is D3hoops.com's weekly honor roll, in season No. 29 of recognizing the top performance at each of the five positions from the previous week.
