CHICAGO, Ill. -- Following a two-goal performance against College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) co-leader North Central, junior midfielder Bastian Eikeland was named the CCIW Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday morning.
Eikeland could not be denied in his performance in Naperville against the Cardinals. The junior from Stavanger, Norway sent in five shots and tallied four on target, including the two North Park goals in the 2-2 draw with the Cards.
Eikeland's first goal arrived shortly after halftime. With the Vikings trailing, Eikeland connected with teammate Gustav Finér for the 1-1 equalizer in the 49th minute before tallying the go-ahead goal in the 63rd minute on a perfect free kick.
North Park's top goal-scorer leads the CCIW inside and out of conference play in shots taken per game - 3.75 in CCIW play and 3.30 on the season. Despite playing in fewer games this year, he ranks tied for second in CCIW goals (3) and tied for eighth in CCIW shots on target (8).
This is Eikeland's second-career CCIW weekly honor, with his first arriving during his 2024 freshman season.
