Vikings fall at #20 Carroll

WAUKESHA, Wis. -- The North Park University women's basketball team fell on Wednesday night at Van Male Fieldhouse, dropping a 79-63 contest to 20th-ranked Carroll University.

North Park (5-12, 1-7 CCIW) matched Carroll's physicality across all four quarters to shoot an impressive 54.0 percent from the floor, highlighted mostly down low The Vikings scored 40 of their 63 points in the lane, angling to stay in lockstep with a strong Pioneer offense.

After falling behind early, North Park settled in offensively, cutting into Carroll's lead multiple times. Junior guard Aliyah Hershberger continued her strong play, leading North Park with 14 points on an ultra-efficient 6-of-8 shooting, while also contributing two steals on the defensive end. Junior guard Teresa Morrissey added 12 points, knocking down a pair of three-pointers and dishing out four assists, while senior forward Shay Bowen provided a spark with 11 points and eight rebounds, anchoring the Vikings' interior presence.

Carroll (13-4, 7-1 CCIW) shot 46.9% from the field, contributing 32 points in the paint while generating 25 second chance points. The starters did all the work, as the Pios had just five points off the bench. They were led in scoring by Natalie Gricius while Ryann Wendt posted a double-double with 10 points and as many rebounds.
