CHICAGO, Ill. -- North Park women's basketball returns to the Carlson Gymnasium looking to snap a tough stretch as they host Augustana in a midseason CCIW matchup on Wednesday night. The Vikings from Chicago enter at 4-10 overall and still searching for their first conference win, while Augustana comes in riding momentum from wins in four of their past five games played.
North Park will lean heavily on junior guard Aliyah Hershberger, who has been the team's offensive catalyst all season. Hershberger leads the squad with 13.9 points per game, shooting an efficient 46.6% from the field and nearly 38% from beyond the arc.
On the other side, Augustana boasts one of the league's most dominant rebounders in Cali Papez, who averages 6.8 boards per game and has already pulled down 95 rebounds this season. Her 6.8 rebounds per contest is the top mark in the CCIW. Papez combines physicality in the paint with a knack for finishing, shooting over 52% from the floor. Augustana is led in scoring by Papez (11.7ppg) and Audrey Erickson, who adds 11.3 points per game alongside a team-leading 19 threes made.
Tipoff inside Carlson Gym on Wednesday is set for 7:00 PM CT.
