Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Pair of early goals gives No. 8 North Park a win over MSOE

CHICAGO, Ill. -- A pair of quick goals propelled the No.8-ranked North Park Men's Soccer team to a 2-0 win over the Milwaukee School of Engineering Red Raiders on Wednesday night. The Vikings run their unbeaten season to four games after another quality non-conference win.

A corner kick for the Vikings in the sixth minute set the Blue & Gold up for early success at Viets Field. In the chaos following a battle for possession from the corner kick, junior midfielder Nico Chavez would get a foot on the loose ball to get the Vikings on the board early, tallying his first goal in a North Park uniform.

Not long after, in the 10th minute, senior midfielder Vidar Rydell gained possession on the right wing before a cross in to junior defender Kevin Perez led to his team-leading third goal of the season.

The North Park defense took over from there, holding a battle-tested and active MSOE team to just five shots on goal in the contest. The Red Raiders had their chances with eight corner kicks, but sophomore goalkeeper Ludvig Almborg and company would stimy any chances the home-defending Red Raiders would get.

Chavez led NPU with a pair of shots on goal while Almborg's five saves allowed him to register his first shutout in goal through the early parts of this 2025 season. Senior center back Christian Vaaland also enjoyed a full 90 on the field in tonight's win.
