KENOSHA, Wis. -- Illinois Wesleyan put on a pitching clinic against the North Park Softball team on Saturday afternoon, allowing just one hit across two games in a doubleheader sweep of the Vikings.
Senior second baseman Maddy Tan delivered North Park's lone hit of the day in the Vikings' first trip to the plate - a single into center field.
However, despite the struggles for the NPU offense, junior pitcher Maya Lafnear showcased one of her best outings of the season against a solid Titan offense. Lafnear worked six innings and scattered four hits, fanning three while surrendering just two unearned runs.
IWU's Gianna Certa got the win in game one and bounced back for the save in game two, fanning four Viking hitters in her two-game shutout.
