Vanlandingham's career night leads to CCIW Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- With his performance in Saturday's 115-114 triple overtime win over the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin elected Vikings senior guard Kolden Vanlandingham as the conference Player of the Week.

Vanlandingham posted career highs in both points with 39, and assists with 10; adding 2 steals and shooting an efficient 14-23 from the field overall, and 5-10 from behind the arc.  During his game high 53 minutes of play, Vanlandingham made a number of clutch shots down the stretch to keep the Vikings within striking distance of Stevens Point, who had a double digit lead halfway through the second half. He kept the Pointers' defense guessing by mixing up how he was effecting the game by getting to the basket, step-back threes, getting to the free throw line, and finding open teammates for easy buckets.

The Vikings' effort and perseverance throughout this game, led by Vanlandingham, put them in the position for Marquis Vance to hit the game-winning three from the right wing and move to 4-1 on the season as they head into conference play this week against Carroll and Millikin.
