CHICAGO, Ill. -- In a battle of "moments" North Park and Carthage Men's Soccer played to a 2-2 draw in the final match of the regular season. The "non-loss result" gives North Park the #4 seed in the upcoming College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Tournament, hosting Carroll for a Quarterfinals match this coming Saturday.
North Park struck first in the 14th minute when senior forward Angel Arismendiz capitalized on a Carthage turnover, slotting home his second goal of the season. Fumbled control from the Firebirds and quick thinking by Arismendiz set the table for him to beat the Carthage keeper.

The Vikings dominated the first half in shot volume, outshooting Carthage 11-4, but couldn't extend their lead.
Carthage responded with intensity after the break. In a span of just over 10 minutes, they flipped the script. Adrian Atanassov headed in a corner from Emmitt Hansen at 55:07. Then, at 65:23, Eli Schoffstall curled in a free kick from just outside the box to give the Firebirds a 2-1 lead.
North Park refused to fold. In the 80th minute, senior forward Adam Hamad equalized with a powerful strike off a corner kick. Senior midfielder Vidar Rydell sent in that corner, punched off the cross bar before Hamad popped a shot inside the net for the all-important second goal.
