Men's Soccer plays to a draw with UW-Platteville

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- In a tightly contested non-conference matchup Wednesday night at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium, North Park University and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville played to a 0-0 draw.

The Vikings (8-5-1, 3-3-0) held firm against a persistent Pioneers attack, with goalkeepers Ludvig Almborg and Arvid Skoglund combining for a clean sheet. Almborg started the match and recorded one save in the first half before Skoglund took over in the second, adding another crucial stop to preserve the shutout.

North Park managed five shots on the night, with two on target. Midfielders Bastian Eikeland and Anthony Chebat each registered a shot on goal, testing Platteville's keeper Seth Aiken, who matched the Vikings' defensive effort with two saves of his own.

The match saw physical play from both sides, with North Park committing 17 fouls and receiving two yellow cards. Platteville was whistled for 12 fouls and one yellow card.

Despite several opportunities, neither team could break through in the final third. The Pioneers nearly broke through in the later half of the second, finding the back of the net, but having the goal called back on an offsides.

Platteville outshot North Park 10-5, but the Vikings' defense remained organized and resilient throughout the 90 minutes.

The draw marks North Park's first tie of the season and continues a strong defensive stretch heading into the final weeks of regular-season play.
