CHICAGO, Ill. -- In one of the team's final non-conference, regular-season matches of 2025, North Park Men's Soccer welcomes #19 University of Chicago to the North Side on Wednesday night for a Windy City showdown.
U-Chicago (7-1-4, 1-0-1 UAA) dropped the first game of the season to then-#19 Gustavus Adolphus and, since then, the Maroons have gone unbeaten through 11 games. That unbeaten stretch has featured eight shutouts and four ties, including a 1-1 draw with Carnegie Mellon last Saturday.
The Maroons' 0.509 Goals Against Average ranks 13th in Division III and their 85.4 Save Percentage is just outside the top 10 at 11th.
Two players for the Maroons, sophomore forward Chase Perry and junior defender Evan Kanellos, have scored four times this season. Sophomore Ali Alamery has done the bulk of work in net, saving 33 of 39 shots on goal. His six shutouts rank 11th in DIII and he has started in goal for all of U-Chicago's 12 matches.
North Park (7-4, 2-3 CCIW) has gone win-loss in eight consecutive matches, recently dropped a 2-1 heartbreaker at Illinois Wesleyan this past Saturday.
The Vikings average 2.18 goals per game and boast a shots on goal percentage of 48.4 (74-153). Other than a 5-2 upending by Augustana on September 28, all of North Park's losses are by just one goal.
Like the Maroons, two Vikings have four goals this season: sophomore midfielder Bastian Eikeland and junior defender Kevin Perez. Both of those players have eight shots on goal while senior midfielder Vidar Rydell leads NPU with 24 shots and a dozen on frame. Rydell and sophomore midfielder Alexander Gahm both have four assists.
Kickoff in an always-competitive matchup is set for 7:00 PM CT under the lights of the Holmgren Athletic Complex.
