CHICAGO, Ill. -– On a beautiful Friday night on the North Side, North Park's Men's Soccer hosted the No. 16 University of Wisconsin–Eau Clare Blugolds in what was expected to be a gritty and physical game. With the Blugolds known for their physical play, the match was just that – a back-and-forth boxing match that ended in a draw 0-0.
Between the two teams there was a total of eight yellow cards and numerous stoppages.
With a slow start to the game, North Park and Wisconsin-Eau Clare ended up combining for 27 shots in the match, 15 for Eau Clare and 12 for the Vikings.
Sophomore keeper Ludvig Almborg saved all 4 of the shots on goal with 3 of those coming in the second half, while his offensive counter parts tallied four shots on goal of their own. Making up those 4 shots on goal were sophomore midfielder Mathias Soerum with 2, junior forward Michal Dejworek with 1, and grad student Jostein Blindheim with 1 as well. The Vikings held the corner kick advantage with 6 attempts in the match to the Blugold's 3, having some extra opportunities to sneak a shot past their keeper but could not convert.

The Vikings (1-0-2) have a day of rest before hosting another home game on Sunday, September 8th when the Bears from Washington University (2-0-1) come to town from St. Louis.
