KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- A game with plenty of offense on both sides of the field led to a 2-0 win over the Dubuque Spartans for the No. 25-ranked North Park Men's Soccer on Saturday afternoon.
Junior forward Michal Dejworek was the first to score for North Park off an assist by junior midfielder Love Brandt in the 26th minute. The Vikings nearly managed double-digit shots in the first half (9) with four of five saved by the Spartan goalkeeper.
After halftime, North Park added another goal in the 56th minute by freshman midfielder Bastian Eikeland, assisted by sophomore forward Carson Belcher.
The Spartans would suffer a shutout to an always-stout North Park defense, despite out-shooting the Vikings 16-13 (6-6). Freshman goalkeeper Ludvig Almborg secured his fifth shutout of the season, saving all six shots that made it his way.
Fifth-year midfielder Jostein Blindheim had a pair of shots on goal to support the NPU offense.
