BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – North Park Softball lost a doubleheader to the CCIW's top team, Illinois Wesleyan University, on Sunday afternoon. The Vikings fell 8-0 in five innings during game one before a 13-4 defeat in game two.

North Park was two-hit in game one, but those two hits managed to go for extra bases. The knocks were both doubles, one by sophomore first baseman Salyssa Garcia and another by sophomore designated player Sydney Snyder.

Snyder also drove an extra-base hit in game two via a solo home run – her first round tripper of the season – to put North Park ahead 1-0 after two innings. However, the Titans piled on 13 runs between the fourth and seventh innings to put the game out of reach.

Sophomore Katie Patton added another home run for North Park, however, with a three-run launch to center field in the fifth inning. Junior second baseman Maddy Tan also drew three hit-by-pitch AB's in game two.

North Park has its final home games of 2024 this coming Thursday, April 25, with a doubleheader against North Central. Prior to the 3pm first pitch at Holmgren, Vikings Softball will honor seniors Isa Santos and Eliza Rex.
