CHICAGO, Ill. – It was a rough go for North Park Softball in a Battle of the Vikings on Friday afternoon. North Park dropped the doubleheader in five innings twice, 12-0 and 10-2.
Facing one of the top pitchers in the CCIW, Augustana's Nadia Ranieri picked up two wins in the doubleheader, navigating four innings in the first game and starting three in game two. In both outings, she allowed just one hit in her shutout starts while fanning nine batters in the doubleheader.
Sophomore Katie Patton and Kathryn Keehn were the only two hitters from NPU to manage a hit in game one. North Park had a better go in game two as hits were pitched up by Maya Lafnear, Keehn, Maddy Tan, and a double by Salyssa Garcia, who knocked the only extra-base hit tally for NPU on the day. Tan delivered a two-run single into right field to give NPU a pair of runs, but Augustana walked away with a double short-game sweep.

North Park (6-14, 2-2 CCIW) gets right back at it on Saturday, April 13, for a pair of home games against Carroll University. First pitch for game one is set for 1:00 PM/
