CLERMONT, Fla. -- North Park Softball couldn't get the bats going on Wednesday morning against Gettysburg College. The Vikings fell to the Bullets 8-0 in five innings, managing just three hits.
Sophomore shortstop Kayla Lorenz had the first hit of the game when she cracked a two-out double to left field before a groundout ended the inning. North Park starter Maya Lafnear also navigated a scoreless first inning, but the Bullets would score runs in the next four innings of the short game to put the Vikings out of reach.
Lorenz' double and singles by sophomore catcher Katie Patton and sophomore left fielder Eden Baker were the lone knocks today, as the Vikings look to get back into the win column tomorrow, March 14. NPU will play Ohio Northern at 1:30 PM ET before another afternoon game against Washington College (MD) at 4:15 PM ET back at Legends Way Ballfields.
