Volleyball swept by Raiders

CHICAGO, Ill. – North Park men's volleyball suffered a straight sets loss (25-23, 27-25, 25-21) to Milwaukee School of Engineering on Saturday afternoon. The Vikings were without junior outside hitter Ty Ingrao, who was on scheduled rest after setting the NPU school record in attacks (53) on Friday night.

North Park's first set of the afternoon proved to be its best, hitting .226 with a match-high 11 kills. However, the Raiders managed the NPU offense fairly well, digging out 14 attacks while blocking three. Junior outside hitter Vicente Cabrera paced the Vikings in the opener with five kills while sophomore middle blocker Pablo Ocasio hit .429 with three kills. For the Raiders, four players had three kills while Eric Mueller posted four in the first set.

MSOE kept their defensive efforts up in the second set while forcing their way through the Vikings' blocks. The Raiders dug out 24 attacks while adding two more blocks and scoring three service aces. NPU managed just a .047 hitting mark in the second set while junior utility player Adrian Cales led the Vikings with three kills in the set.

The Raiders bullied their way through the third and final set, driving 14 kills, a pair of aces, and 17 digs to sweep the Vikings.
