BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The North Park women's basketball team had the tall task of facing No. 13 Illinois Wesleyan inside the Shirk Center on Wednesday night. The Titans won the contest with a final score of 84-46.
The first quarter showcased a dominant Illinois Wesleyan team, in which the Titans outscored North Park 31 to 11. The Titans went 10-for-19 (52.63%) from the field and added another 10-for-12 effort from the free-throw line. The Vikings were unable to find a rhythm, shooting 38% (5-for-13) from the field and 14.3% (1-for-7) from beyond the arc.
In the second quarter, the Titans put up 28 points off of a 9-for-14 (64.3%) mark from the field and another 7-for-9 from the free-throw line. The Vikings upped their three-point percentage to 75% (3-for-4) but remained stagnant from the field going 5-for-15 (33.33%).
Although the second half of the game was closer, the Vikings were unable to come back from the deficit and fell to Illinois Wesleyan on the road, 84-46.
