CHICAGO, Ill. -- The North Park women's basketball team tipped off against he North Central Cardinals Saturday afternoon, with the Cardinals spoiling senior day in a 77-60 loss.
The game kicked off with a display off the Cardinal's shooting abilities, as they notched 22 points in the first quarter with a 71.4% (10-for-14) from the field. Meanwhile, the Vikings were held to 11 points with a 38.5% (5-for-13) from the field.
Both squads saw a decrease in shooting percentage form the field in the second quarter with North Central recording a 38.5% while holding the Vikings to 25.0%. Despite the low shooting percentage, North Park outscored North Central 19-18 thanks to the Vikings taking advantage of the freebies. North Park went 12-for-14 from the free throw line.
The second quarter efforts proved to not be enough as North Central held the lead for all but 50 seconds of the game, finishing the game North Central 77, North Park 60.
