CHICAGO, Ill. -- In a tightly contested battle at NPU Gym, the Vikings Men's basketball team fell to the Augustana College Vikings, 69-70 in overtime. The loss moves the North Park Vikings to 3-6 in CCIW play (8-10 overall).
North Park led Augustana going into the half with a score 31-27, but Augustana kept it close, tying it with 3 free throws in the second half with only 9 seconds left on the clock. Despite getting the rebound, North Park could not put one in, sending the game into overtime. In overtime, both Vikings teams traded buckets going into the last 20 seconds, but with a late 2 point shot by Augustana in the last 3 seconds, North Park was not able to lay one in, ending the game 70-69 in favor of Augustana College. Kolden Vanlandingham led North Park's offensive efforts with 23 points, showcasing precision with a 9-18 field goal mark.
