PLYMOUTH, Wis. -- The North Park women's tennis team traveled north for a Sunday afternoon competition against Lakeland University. After three hours of close matches, North Park walked away with a 6-3 win over the Muskies.

Doubles Matches

North Park put the pressure on early, going up in all three of their doubles matches.  Undefeated #1 doubles Hanna Zethreus and Teodora Kraljevic dominated their opponents, winning easily 8-0.  The #3 doubles team of Olivia DeLuca and Jillian Boles - who is a new spring addition for the Vikings - were next to secure the win at 8-2.  In #2 doubles, the Muskies fought hard late in the preset against North Park to force a tie-breaker at 7-all. However, Kate Vinson and Anna Miller kept their cool and won the deciding tiebreaker.

Singles Matches

Having secured three wins in doubles, the Vikings needed just two singles matches to win the team battle.  Zethreus and Teodora at #1 and #2 singles provided those wins early in singles play. The two continue a remarkable undefeated spring season so far.  Other singles matches were tight with two going into tiebreakers and, in the final match of the day, Olivia DeLuca at #4 singles provided one more win for the Vikings.

What's Next

Following Easter Break, the Vikings compete in an away match against UW - Stevens Point on Saturday, April 15.  The final home match of the spring will be on Monday, April 17, against MSOE.
