NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The North Park women's basketball team tipped off against Gallaudet University and Roanoke College in a tournament hoisted by Welch College in Nashville, TN. The Vikings suffered a pair of losses: 64-59 to Gallaudet and 61-57 against Roanoke.
Game One
Gallaudet outshot the Vikings 20 to 16. The Vikings were dominant in ball possession in this quarter taking 22 shots from the field compared to the Bison's 16. The Vikings' shots only landed at a 32% compared to Gallaudet's 50% from the field. North Park was 0-for-5 from beyond the arc while Gallaudet did not attempt a three-pointer.
The second quarter was closer with the Bison leading 15-14. The Vikings shots were still landing at a 33% clip. North Park got their defensive efforts together and held Gallaudet to a 7-for-19 (36.8%) mark.
Coming out of half time Gallaudet went on a 6-0 run before the Vikings were able to respond with 9 unanswered points of their own. The Bison ended up outscoring North Park 15-13 in the third.
North Park gave it their all in the fourth quarter. The Vikings took the lead after putting up 9 unanswered starting with a layup from Elisha Dunlap. Then, Victoria Perry and Aliyah Hershberger smacked back-to-back three-pointers. Although the Vikings won the fourth quarter, the matchup ended in favor of the Gallaudet 64-59.

Game Two
Both teams battled hard in the first quarter. Victoria Perry led the team with 12 first quarter points, to a 18-16 lead with one minute to go. Roanoke put up a three with less than a minute left and carried that lead into the second quarter.
Roanoke outscores the Vikings in the second quarter 16-12 even though North Park held them to a 37% from the field.
North Park outscored Roanoke 13-11 in the third while holding the Maroons to a measly 4-13 (30.7%). This was to no avail as Roanoke secured the win with a 15-14 performance over the Vikings in the fourth.
