Titans Advance Over Vikings in CCIW Quarterfinals

Titans secured the 7-6 advantage in PK's following two OT's

CHICAGO, Ill. -- Illinois Wesleyan utilized an 86th minute goal while playing a man down to force an overtime before advancing via PK's in a CCIW Tournament quarterfinals match against North Park on Saturday night.

The Vikings struck first by means of a sophomore forward Michal Dejworek through ball to junior forward Willy Wickman who sent a cross to senior forward Jostein Blindheim for and early 14th-minute goal.

Plenty of action filled the next scoreless 72 minutes, featuring four yellow cards, a red card against the Titans at 74:10, five corner kicks, and six shots on frame.

As the Vikings played keep away, Illinois Wesleyan found their answer in the 86th minute with a header from Sasha Tyinyy to tie the game up and bring the match to overtime.

The Titans were able to take the lead on a strike by means of a laser free kick from Brody Seaton in the 96th minute of the match, ripping past the Viking wall and just inside the left post from 25 yards out.
