WHEATON, Ill. – A three-goal first half led to a 3-1 defeat for North Park men's soccer at Joe Bean Stadium on Saturday night.
The Vikings were first to score when freshman forward Tim Sjöström utilized a corner kick opportunity to find junior defender Christian Vaaland in front of the net, who would head the corner into the net at 9:49 to go up 1-0.
However, in the first half alone, Wheaton tallied three unanswered goal. The first was a successful PK goal by Pryse Anderson in the 14th minute before a brace from Kyle Johnson at 21:38 and 26:23 sealed a Thunder victory.
The Vikings had their chances, out-shooting the Thunder 10-3 in the second half while sending three shots on goal in the first. However, other than a PK miss in the 87th minute, the only shot on goal for North Park was from Viking goals leader Michal Dejworek, saved in the 58th minute.

The Vikings (9-5-2, 4-2-1 CCIW) have clinched a spot in the 2023 CCIW Tournament. Before that, they'll finish the regular season on the road against Carroll (7-8-1, 2-4-1 CCIW) this coming Wednesday, October 25, at Schneider Stadium.
